winter weather update

Church family, our hearts are with you. We know many are still navigating the effects of the winter weather—especially those without power or heat. Please know you are deeply loved, prayed for, and not alone. We’re grateful that power has been restored to the church, and we look forward to gathering for worship this Sunday at 10:40 a.m. There will be no Sunday School this week, but we invite you to come a little early and warm up with us at 9:45 a.m. for coffee, hot chocolate, donuts, and shared fellowship. If you’re able to join us, please use caution in the parking lot, as some slick spots may remain. And if you need to stay home, know we understand and are holding you in prayer.

We study God’s Word together, pray for each other, encourage one another, and enjoy close friendships.

Scripture Claimed: “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” (1Peter 4:10)

Women's Ministries

Ministries of the SVCW organization serve to provide the hand of fellowship
and the love of Christ to the women of SVC.

Fellowship

Volunteers in the Fellowship Ministry seek ways to provide community outreach as well as times of fellowship for SVC women. Events are announced via the church bulletin and on the church website.

Grief & Mercy

Volunteers seek to comfort church members and their families who have suffered a loss or illness, through cards, encouraging notes, visits, and meals when appropriate.

Homebound

Volunteers seek to identify and minister to the women of our congregation who cannot leave their homes. Visits are made to their residences with a goal of companionship and helping to keep them a vital part of our congregation.

New Members

Volunteers will send notes and/or make calls to new women members to welcome them to the church family. They will also introduce each woman to the various ministry opportunities to help her integrate into the life of the church.

Prayer

Volunteers will act as prayer partners who pray regularly for their assigned church members. They are asked to contact each person or family for whom they are praying to ascertain any specific prayer needs they may have.

Prayer Shawl

Volunteers crochet or knit prayer shawls for members who are ill or grieving, as well as baby blankets for new babies. They meet together to enjoy fellowship as they crochet or knit.

Widows

Volunteers care for our widows in the manner described in 1 Timothy 5:3-14. Each member of this ministry will act as a special friend, keeping in close contact with her assigned widow. They seek to provide friendship through calls, visits, help, and prayer. Activities such as outings or luncheons may be planned throughout the year for the group to meet together.
