Denise Daniels, Director of Children’s Ministries and Parent’s Day Out
If you were in worship last Sunday, you heard about our exciting Irish-themed Vacation Bible School coming up July 13–17 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Throughout the week, the children will explore a different story from David’s life each day while learning and memorizing our theme scripture, Psalm 23. We’re also excited that Ms. Sandy will be leading the music as we worship and sing praises together each day.
We are quickly approaching our capacity of 152 children this year—up from 131 last year! It’s wonderful to see so many families eager to participate. As we prepare for a full and exciting week, I still need a couple of volunteers. If you are available to serve during VBS week, I would greatly appreciate your help. We truly need you to make this ministry possible! Please register HERE to volunteer.
We will have two training dates to teach you all you need to know about the VBS week! You may choose either June 25 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. or June 30 from 1:00–3:00 p.m. when you register as a volunteer.
We will have two workdays. The first is this Tuesday from noon–3:00 p.m., and the second will be July 1 from 9:00 a.m.–noon. Please come and stay as long as you can as we create decorations for the sets and the hallways. We will meet in the Café.
If you would like to donate snacks for the children during VBS you may sign up HERE. Please take your donation to the Café by Sunday, July 12. There will be a designated spot marked VBS on the counter and in the walk-in refrigerator for your donations. Thank you!
If you would like to help feed and replenish the energy for our fantastic volunteers, you may sign up HERE to provide treats and drinks for them. Please take your donation to the Café by Sunday, July 12. There will be a designated spot marked VBS volunteers on the counter and in the walk-in refrigerator for your donations. Thank you!
Even if you don’t feel ready to commit to serving, I encourage you to stop by the church sometime during the week of July 13–17 between 9:00 a.m. and noon to see everything that’s happening! You won’t even recognize the building as SVC—it will have been transformed into Emerald Crossing. I promise you’ll be amazed by the talented volunteers as they perform skits, lead songs, act out Bible stories, create fun snacks, and share God’s love in so many creative ways with so many children. Seeing it all in action just might inspire you to become part of the adventure next year!
