About Us

Our mission and our values demonstrate who we are and flow from what we believe.

Our Mission

“We exist to love the community, the city, and the world with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

1

Love the Community

Jesus said the world would know us by our love. People don’t care how much we know until they know how much we care.

Love The City

The gospel is the means by which people are transformed. Jesus changed society by changing the hearts of people one at a time.

Love the World with the Gospel

We are commanded to go into all the world to make disciples. SVC is eager to do its part and hasten the day when the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the seas.

Here's What We Value as a Church

The core values of any organization reflect who it is and what it believes.

Biblical

It’s all about Jesus. From beginning to end, the Bible points us to the amazing reality that God has been merciful to sinners by sending Jesus. We want to display God’s glory by celebrating, proclaiming, and living the gospel through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Reformed

Historically we trace our roots back to the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century. Doctrinally we gladly proclaim that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, on the authority of Scripture alone, for the glory of God alone.

Covenantal

Worship is the central event in the life of our church. Our services strive to glorify God by enjoying Him in a manner that is relevant, edifying, challenging, and encouraging for all in attendance.

Outreach

Healthy things reproduce, and our church is no exception. We are focused on sharing the gospel in word and deed across the street and around the world.

Fellowship

People need the Lord, and the Lord’s people need each other. Small groups, fellowship meals, Sunday School classes, and service projects afford us great opportunities to build lasting relationships and a strong church.

Children and Youth

The fruit of the womb is God’s blessing. We are eager to teach the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord that they may carry our church forward in faithfulness to God for decades to come.

Partnerships

We enjoy a rich relationship with organizations in the Nashville area and the broader United States. Our partnerships help us to care for our members
and advance the gospel.
